Student Rules
Blood Purity
When making your character's bio, you'll be required to specify what their wizarding blood-type is (pure-blood, half-blood, and Muggle-born). Here's the general rules to always remember:
Pure-blood: Your character is a Pure-blood if both of its parents are a witch and wizard of either Half-blood or Pure-blood heritage.
Half-blood: Your character is a Half-blood if one of its parents is a wizard/witch and one of its parents is a Muggle or a Squib.
Muggle-born: Your character is a Muggle-born if both of its parents are Muggles or Squibs.
Special Powers
Members are allowed to apply for special powers but only under certain circumstances. The character in question must have at least 1000 (one thousand) posts before he/she can apply using the special powers application. Canon characters who already have the Special Power do not need to apply for it.
Upon applying for a special power, you will be required to write a role play of at least five hundred words of your character using the chosen power. Be sure to use your best writing for this application, because we'll only be looking for skilled role players for such character status.
Your application must be approved by at least two Administrators before it is accepted. Once it has been accepted, you must add a note to your character's biography about the special power.
The Administrators will be allowed to ask you questions such as "How does your character react to this power," or, "What does his/her friends think of the power?" You must reply with thoughtful responses to questions such as these.
Only one of each special power will be granted each term. That means if someone else during the current term has applied for and received Occlumens status, you must wait until next term for the status of your application.
Please attach any other necessary forms to your application.
- You MUST be accepted as a creature to post as one. See Creature Application. Posting as a creature without being accepted and being on the registered list in the Ministry will lead to punishment.
- Babies are prohibited.
- Names from the Twilight movies and or books must be approved. You must explain why you have that name.
- Harry Potter last names (i.e. Potter, Weasley, Finnigan, Tonks, Granger, Dumbledore... etc.) must be approved. You must explain why you have that name.
- Any exact names from any book, movie, video game, or television must be approved. You must explain why you have that name.
- I will not tolerate mary-sues or gary-stus of any character from anything.
- Celebrities that represent Characters from the Harry Potter books/movies are reserved for Canons ONLY. Everything else is up for grabs/debate.
- Please no characters or references to characters from the infamous fanfic "My Immortal" ... although it is hilarious, it's not appropriate.
- Your character can't find nor create magical artifacts. This also means that no character may have an invisibility cloak or time turner or a marauders map.
- If you have an idea for a role play, please feel free to contact one of the Administrators with your idea. If the role play isn't too insane (and I've seen some insane ones), we may allow the role play to take place.
- Making your character and posts ORIGINAL, unless it is already YOUR OWN, includes not plagiarizing other characters/posts from online RPGs, whether it's a character/post from here, or a character/post from a RPG far away from us. If you're caught plagiarizing a character, you will be asked to come up with your own character. If you are caught plagiarizing a post, your post will be deleted. If you continue plagiarizing, the Administrators will take action, which could include code word any of the following: removal of privileges; issued warning(s); temporary suspension; permanent banishment.
- Only characters who are of age (17) may apply for an Animagi. Otherwise, being an Animagus is forbidden. In rare situations, we do bend this rule, but don't hold your breath; it's extremely rare.
- ORIGINAL CHARACTERS who are age 12 and above may CHOOSE their house, and have no need to be sorted. ORIGINAL Character who are 11, MUST be sorted.
- Applicants are not to contact members of the staff to request reviews or approvals for their applications.
